Two carpenters, eighteen years on the tools between us, both on every job we take on.

How We Ended Up Working Together

We met in a big crew of carpenters renovating cabins in Tasman holiday parks.

That work took us to Western Australia for six weeks, then Victoria twice. Fast work, long stretches away, and good blokes to be around. You spend all day on the tools together and then all night in the same pub, and you find out fairly quickly whether you can work with someone.

Six years later we're still doing it, just under our own name.

Why We Went On Our Own

Between us we'd spent years working for other people. Plenty of it was very good.

Some of it taught us how we didn't want to do things. Jobs that weren't organised properly. Clients who couldn't get a straight answer about what was happening. Sites left in a state at the end of the day.

We started Two Oceans at the end of last year to do it the other way round. It's been a steep learning curve, mostly in the parts of the job that aren't carpentry, but it's the right call and we haven't looked back.

What Two of Us on Your Job Means

There's no site manager, no office, and no third person to go through for an answer.

If Josh is up a ladder, ring Sean. One of us will pick up.

It also means there are always two people thinking about your job. We've worked together long enough to argue about something properly and then get on with it, which is more use on a site than either of us being right on our own.

Where We Work

Ulladulla, Mollymook, Milton and Narrawallee are home, and that's where most of our work is.

We take jobs from Batemans Bay through to Nowra, Jervis Bay included, and the smaller places in between. For the right job we'll go further.

Give us a shout. We’re carpenters, not salesmen. We’ll walk you through what you actually need, instead of selling you what you don’t.
